Steve Kerr revealed Warriors starting lineup for preseason opener

Steve Kerr ended the speculation before it started Tuesday by revealing his plan for the Warriors starting lineup for the preseason opener on Saturday vs. the Lakers at Chase Center. With Draymond Green out Golden State will start Chris Paul, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney. Green will miss anywhere between three to six weeks with a left lateral ankle sprain. The team will reevaluate his status on October 16.

Green’s injury opened the door to insert Paul into the lineup after coach Kerr said the Warriors had “six starters” in the lead up to training camp. With Green out six becomes five and if Paul thrives as a starter the question of who the odd man out will be gets kicked down the line until Draymond returns. If Paul struggles or the Warriors choose to go in another direction, CP3 hinted at media day Monday he’d be accepting of a bench role if it helped the team win despite not having ever come of the bench in his 18 year career.
