Tiger Woods was involved in a car accident Tuesday morning in southern California and was transported to a local hospital due to be treated for injuries, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Woods was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard when he crashed his car in a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision.

LASD Sheriff Alex Villanueva said that he was alive and conscious at the scene and that there was no evidence of impairment. He was taken to the hospital to undergo surgery for "multiple leg injuries," according to his agent, Marc Steinberg, who released a statement on the accident. In addition, the PGA released a statement regarding the crash.
Los Angeles County public information officer Henry Narvez categorized Woods’ injuries as “moderate to critical” while addressing reporters and a lieutenant told CBSN LA that Woods' injuries are believed to be "non life-threatening."
The initial statement from Los Angeles County Sheriffs said that the "jaws of life" were used to free Woods from the wreck, but the LA fire captain clarified that hand tools were used.
According to ESPN anchor Michael Eaves, the lane Woods was driving on is notorious for speeding and has a steep decline.
MSNBC also had footage of the car after the wreck.
Golf Digest reported that the 45-year-old was in California for a two-day content shoot with the publication after serving as host of the PGA Tour’s Genesis Invitational over the weekend.
Per ESPN's Shelley Smith, Woods was en route to do a shoot with Drew Brees and Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and concern began to grow when he did not show up and was not answering his phone.
Pictures on social media showed Woods at Rolling Hills Country Club on Monday with Dwayne Wade and David Spade.
Woods has not played in any PGA Tour events this year after undergoing back surgery at the end of December. He told Jim Nantz of CBS on Sunday that he was still awaiting the results of an MRI before he could determine when he could play again.
