Someone tell Noah Syndergaard he missed a great start by rotation mate Taijuan Walker.
The Mets starter is still recovering from Tommy John surgery and tried to tune in to New York's home opener on Thursday afternoon, but MLB's blackout restrictions had other ideas.
Syndergaard, scrolling through the MLB app on his TV, tried to turn on the game before being notified that the game was blacked out in his area, a major point of contention among those who feel the league is shooting itself in the foot in its quest to reach and engage more fans.
"Bulls--t," Syndergaard said when the blackout notification popped up. "Guess I will watch the sh--y Pirates."
Syndergaard sure missed a good one, with Jeff McNeil blasting a home run to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth after Walker allowed just two runs in six innings in his Mets debut. Syndergaard hopes to be watching again in person by June, a ballpark area for his return to the team.
