A year ago, the Los Angeles Dodgers edged out the division-rival San Diego Padres to acquire future Hall of Famer Max Scherzer in a July trade with the Washington Nationals. All Scherzer would do as a Dodger was go 7-0 with a 1.98 ERA, ultimately finishing third in National League Cy Young Award voting.
