Things are *not* going well in Houston. Russell Westbrook, reportedly, is angling for an exit.
Well, things are going better when it comes to James Harden.
These Shams bombs came after both Harden and Westbrook had "expressed concern" regarding the direction of the Houston Rockets franchise after the departures of Mike D'Antoni and Daryl Morey, according to an ESPN report on Wednesday morning.
Both guards have expressed shared these sentiments "through direct conversations or discussions with their representatives and the Rockets' front office," the report says.
Since the Rockets were eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Semifinals, D'Antoni did not seek a new contract to return as the team's head coach.
Morey, who famously traded for Harden in 2012, stepped away from his position as general in October before joining the Philadelphia 76ers as their president of basketball operations less than two weeks later.
Since then, Rafael Stone has been promoted to general manager, and last week the Rockets hired Stephen Silas as their new head coach, a move both Harden and Westbrook reportedly supported.
Westbrook and Harden have three years remaining on their current contracts, which pays them $131.5 million apiece over the three seasons.
Neither player is believed to have requested a trade at this point.
