The New Orleans Saints signed Lorenzo Neal Jr. over the weekend, some 28 years after selecting his dad, Lorenzo Neal, in the fourth round of the 1993 NFL Draft.
Lo Neal the Younger earned his spot with the Saints after trying out at the club's recently concluded rookie minicamp. Undrafted out of Purdue, the 6-foot-3, 325-pound defensive tackle was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection by the coaches in both 2018 and 2020. Neal Jr. missed out on the 2019 season due to a torn ACL.
The elder Neal has gone on to become a star at 95.7 The Game after a storied 16-year run in the NFL.
