The Niners selected Georgia edge rusher Mykel Williams, investing in a position they seriously needed to improve.

In three seasons with the Georgia Bulldogs, Williams totaled 67 tackles, 21.5 tackles for loss and 14 sacks. He was a freshman All-American and SEC All-Freshman in 2022, then was named second-team All-SEC in both 2023 and 2024 as part of one of college football's top defenses.
Williams was also impressive at the NFL Scouting Combine, where he measured at 6'5", 260 pounds and showed an explosive first step.
