When the Raiders were in Oakland their fans were the heaviest drinking fanbase. In 2021 the new numbers don't give Raiders fans that title since their Vegas move. (they fell to #10). After a tough 2020 season San Francisco 49ers fans did their fair share of drinking and smoking on game days, according to Lines.com.

1,683 sports fans were surveyed and 62% of 49ers fans admitted to binge drinking on game days and 53% of 49ers fans admitted to smoking marijuana on those days, as well. These fans were surveyed in September of 2020, so 49ers fans still had high hopes of heading back to the Super Bowl at the time of the survey, which might help suggest why they ranked in the bottom half of the results (#21 for drinking, #20 for smoking) when compared to fans of other teams.

34% of those surveyed said they drank more when their team was losing & 31% said they drank more when their team was ahead. The teams who's fan bases drank the most were the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills & Indianapolis Colts. The NFL draft kicks off on April 29th and it's likely there will be an uptick in drinking that day as we wait for the 2021 season to begin.
