49ers Injuries: Cause for concern with Purdy, Bosa, Williams

The needle is pointing down on Brock Purdy for Sunday's contest with the Green Bay Packers. The 49ers' starting quarterback was limited for the second straight day with a right shoulder injury, but it was the nature in which he was limited that raised eyebrows.

Purdy threw initially, then jogged off the practice field per reports. His usual press conference, which is held every Thursday, was moved to Friday. At minimum, it's a major concern that he'll be unavailable for Sunday.

There might be even more concern for Nick Bosa and Trent Williams, neither of whom practiced Thursday with oblique and ankle injuries, respectively. Bosa's disposition regarding the injury has been exceedingly negative.

At this point, there is a very real possibility that the 49ers are without their starting quarterback, left tackle, and star defensive end in a must-win game against the Packers.

Elsewhere, Jacob Cowing (concussion protocol) was a non-participant after being limited Wednesday. Kevin Givens (groin) and Tatum Bethune (knee) were also absent.

George Kittle (hamstring), who confirmed he'll play, was also among the limited players, along with Jon Feliciano (knee) and Charvarius Ward (personal).

For Green Bay, it appears star corner Jaire Alexander is likely to miss time after re-aggravating a PCL injury in his knee, per The Athletic. He didn't provide a return timeline but spoke of returning later in the year. He missed the last two days of practice.

Green Bay also had linebacker Edgerrin Cooper (hamstring) go from limited on Wednesday to a non-participant Thursday. They had a long list of limited players in RB Josh Jacobs (quad, calf), DT Kenny Clark (toe), OL Josh Myers (wrist), S Evan Williams (hamstring) and DT Colby Wooden (shoulder).
