49ers Injuries: Talanoa Hufanga out 'at least a month'

The short week turnaround has the 49ers limping into Seattle. Kyle Shanahan provided injury updates ahead of the Thursday night clash Tuesday against the Seahawks.

The most notable update was regarding Talanoa Hufanga. The safety injured his wrist in the first half and did not return, and he won't for a while. Shanahan said Hufanga tore ligaments in his wrist and will be out, "...at least a month, probably longer."

That leaves the 49ers increasingly thin at safety with Ji'Ayir Brown having suffered an ankle injury. Young safety Jaylen Mahoney is a likely practice squad activation.

Here's the practice report Kyle Shanahan provided:

Won't practice:
S Talanoa Hufanga - wrist
LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles - calf
K Jake Moody - ankle
DT Jordan Elliott - knee

Limited:
CB Charvarius Ward - knee
WR Chris Conley - oblique
TE Kittle - ribs
LB Warner - ankle
S Ji'Ayir Brown - ankle

The 49ers signed journeyman kicker Matthew Wright to replace Jake Moody, who Shanahan said could go on injured reserve with that high ankle sprain. San Francisco has used one of its IR-return designations with Kalia Davis.

It should also be noted that the Seahawks signed special teams linebacker Ezekiel Turner to their practice squad. Turner spent most of training camp with the 49ers.
