The 49ers have pulled off one of the biggest moves in the free-agency tampering period, as prized defensive tackle Javon Hargrave has agreed to a four-year, $84 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers ($40 million guaranteed), per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Hargrave, 30, is coming off an excellent season with the Eagles where he recorded a career-high 11.0 sacks. Now, he joins the team the Eagles beat in this year's NFC Championship game, adding insult to injury.
Hargrave joins a 49ers defensive front that includes 2022 Defensive Player of the Year Nick Bosa and fellow defensive tackle Arik Armstead.
The Hargrave addition also means the 49ers don't have much faith in former first-round pick Javon Kinlaw, who spent most of last season on injured reserve with knee issues.
The NFL's "legal tampering" period begun at 9 a.m. PT on Monday, while the official start of the new league year is Wednesday at 1 p.m. PT.
