The San Francisco 49ers are adding another wide receiver to the mix. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, San Francisco will sign a former Falcons wideout in Frank Darby.
Darby, a 2021 sixth-round pick, played at... Arizona State, alongside Brandon Aiyuk. In 2019, he went for 616 yards and 8 TDs, while Aiyuk went for 1,192 yards and 8 TDs.
Darby's NFL production is minimal. He's played 16 games with the Falcons over the past three seasons and tallied 2 receptions for 29 yards. He is clearly a camp body with special teams experience.
A roster move will be required to accommodate Darby. The receiving corps was thin Friday afternoon with Aiyuk holding in, Ricky Pearsall rehabbing a hamstring injury, and both Jacob Cowing and Tay Martin not present.
