Some reinforcements are coming to the depleted interior of the 49ers' defensive line.

San Francisco placed defensive tackle Kalia Davis on injured reserve last week, and fears that Arik Armstead could be set for an extended absence with a foot injury that kept him out for eight of nine regular season games last season. Javon Hargrave has been dealing with a hamstring injury that sidelined him against the Arizona Cardinals.

According to former NFL veteran Jason McCourty, the 49ers have signed defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day to attempt to ameliorate the issue.

That report was verified by Josina Anderson. Joseph-Day was waived by the Chargers on December 22. He has 32 combined tackles and a career-high 11 QB hits and (tied for career high) 3.0 sacks this season.

San Francisco also announced a couple roster moves earlier in the day to create an opening. The team waived receiver Willie Snead IV and released defensive lineman Taylor Stallworth from the team’s practice squad.

Per The Athletic's Matt Barrows, the 49ers also plan to re-sign right tackle Matt Pryor, who was released prior to to the game.

San Francisco needs offensive linemen after multiple injuries suffered Monday. Left tackle Trent Williams left the game with a groin injury, and his replacement, Jaylon Moore, was evaluated for a concussion and did not return. Left guard Aaron Banks, who was sidelined with turf toe earlier in the year, left with a toe injury.
