Los Angeles Rams superstar Aaron Donald did his best Myles Garrett impression during a joint practice Thursday.
The Rams are set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday for a preseason game and a matchup of this past season’s Super Bowl. The Rams won that game.
During a second fight between the teams on Thursday, Donald ripped the helmet off of a Bengals player and tried to hit him with it.
In a video, Donald is seen holding two Bengals helmets in his hands swinging them trying to hit someone.
Garrett was suspended the final six games of the 2019 season for the Cleveland Browns after an incident when he swung Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph’s own helmet at him.
He was reinstated after the season.
Bengals Head Coach Zac Taylor worked for Rams head coach Sean McVay before he left to take over in Cincinnati in 2019. Both coaches were hopeful the practices that started on Wednesday wouldn’t devolve into any fighting.
Everything was fine with both teams on Wednesday. Thursday, not so much, with the practice ending early. Bengals offensive lineman La’el Collins and Rams linebacker Leonard Floyd were involved in at least one of the fights.
While Taylor and McVay may get along just fine, their teams certainly are not.
Donald was accused of assaulting a man at a Pittsburgh after hours club in the 2021 offseason. The Penn Hills native was cleared of any wrong doing with the attorney representing the man who accused Donald apologizing for the accusations.
The 49ers are scheduled to play against the Rams on Week 4, so we'll have to see if the NFL hands down a suspension for Donald.
