The 49ers have so many stars on the roster that linebacker Dre Greenlaw often gets lost in the mix.

The speedy and stout sidekick to Fred Warner has made a huge impact since establishing himself as a rookie in 2019 and his 127 tackles last season were second only to Warner (130).

On Tuesday’s edition of 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast” longtime NFL analyst Brian Baldinger said he spoke to Warner before Sunday’s game in Pittsburgh about the close relationship he’s formed with Greenlaw.

“I don’t know if there’s another inside linebacker tandem right now in the league that has played together for five years now,” Baldinger told hosts Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky. “He said they don’t even have to talk to each other. They already know what the other guy’s doing. It reminds me of Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs in Chicago and that was probably the premiere tandem – here with Patrick Willis (and NaVorro Bowman) they had a great tandem then – but this is probably the No. 1 linebacker tandem in the league right now.

“When you get a chance to play five years together in front of the line that they have, and you add Javon Hargrave to what they do and you sign Nick (Bosa) – it’s about as good as it gets right now.”
