Technically, John Lynch’s press conference Monday was scheduled to address the franchise heading into this weekend NFL Draft. But it turned into a Q&A mostly about Deebo Samuel and his drama-filled contract situation.
Sacramento Bee senior reporter Chris Biderman was one of the media members in attendance Monday. Afterwards, he joined 95.7 The Game’s “Damon & Ratto” to give his impressions of Lynch’s comments and what to make of the 30-minute press conference. Check out the full interview below:
“The 49ers definitely don’t want to trade him,” Biderman told hosts Damon Bruce and Ray Ratto. “If you look at their past history, they typically extend guys like George Kittle and Fred Warner in July right before training camp and they have a specific process that they handle when it comes to having these contract negotiations. The 49ers are also not closing the door on trading him. That’s certainly an avenue they don’t want to go. But they’ll take calls, let’s put it that way.”
