We have yet another indication from Deebo Samuel that his days with the San Francisco 49ers are over.
An Instagram video of the star wide receiver at a nightclub this weekend emerged on Sunday and shows a sign was being carried across the dancefloor that read, “Deebo is staying 49ers.”
The video then zooms in on Samuel who is seen laughing and then moves his hand across his neck and shakes his head and mouths, "no."
The 26-year-old has been the center of rumors over the last week after it was reported he requested a trade from the 49ers.
Samuel is looking to cash in on a contract extension after coming off a breakout season and entering the final year of his rookie deal, but the 49ers have yet to offer him one.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on Friday that Samuel basically told the Niners not to offer him a contract because he wants to be traded.
However, reports have surfaced that the 49ers do not intend to trade Samuel at all. The receiver, who the team has utilized in a running back role as well, has not reported to voluntary offseason training with the 49ers and a holdout looms should there be no resolution.
Things could get interesting this week as the NFL Draft is set to begin Thursday and Samuel could be used as part of a trade package if the Niners do indeed trade him.
