Former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia has a bone to pick with ESPN's Mina Kimes. The ex-49er took to Instagram to question Kimes' football knowledge in reaction to her comments about Jimmy Garoppolo.

While making an appearance on First Take earlier this week, Kimes said that Garoppolo is “the definition of being part of the group project that gets an A, while doing none of the work.”

Garcia sounded off on Kimes 'group project' comments and claims he has no right to talk football because "she’s never thrown a touchdown pass in a game", and he thinks it’s “hilarious” that she’s been given a major platform to talk about the sport.

"Who the hell is Mina Kimes and when is the last time she threw a touchdown pass in a game? NEVER! EVER! has she taken a snap or can truly understand the ability, the mindset, the physical and mental toughness, that it takes to play the QB position or any position in the NFL,” Garcia commented on Instagram.

“The fact that there are people out there given a platform to talk about something that they have never done is hilarious and that’s how you have to look at her, she’s a joke! So let’s just laugh at her and support Jimmy, root on our Niners to go out and beat the living f--k out of one more team. That’s what it takes. She will never know that feeling. Can I get an AMEN? Peace.”

Kimes caught wind of Garcia's crude comments and seemed to brush it off with humor.

Garcia asked for an “amen,” but the Twitter congregation was surely not with him on his sentiment.

I hope Garcia knows that Kimes is not the only person in the media to be critical of Garoppolo. Unfournatley, this is not the first time Kimes was attacked for her football knowledge.

A fan earlier this month, sent a nasty email to the ESPN personality, questioning her knowledge of football, and called it "a joke" having her talk about the sport alongside former NFL players. Kimes posted the email on Twitter to show her followers what she has to deal with as a prominent female journalist.

In the Niners' Divisional Round matchup against the Packers, Garoppolo struggled. In the windy and snowy conditions at Lambeau Field, Jimmy G completed just 11 of his 19 passes for 131 yards and an interception.

The entire offense struggled and needed a special teams touchdown to escape with the victory 13-10.

Garoppolo and the Niners will look to put together a better performance on offense against the Los Angeles Rams with a spot in Super Bowl 56.
