The 49ers are 10-point favorites heading into their Thursday night matchup against the New York Giants, who are already banged-up and have to make the cross-country trip on a short week.
Cam Inman of the Bay Area News Group joined 95.7 The Game’s “Steiny & Guru” Thursday afternoon to preview the matchup, saying the Niners have a chance to prove their real contender to the rest of the league.
“The fact that the Giants don’t have Saquon Barkley, they don’t have their starters at left tackle (Andrew Thomas) or left guard (Ben Bredeson),” Inman said, “the Niners defense better make a statement to everybody on primetime TV tonight that they are gonna be the No. 1 defense this year, and that they are gonna be the perfect compliment to what could be the NFL’s No. 1 offense.”
