49ers George Kittle is a big guy who likes to hit and have fun, but he also scares his coach Kyle Shanahan a bit.
While addressing reporters Wednesday, Shanahan joked that Kittle needs to tone down his celebrations. Following a touchdown in Sunday’s 23-7 win over the Houston Texans, Kittle mobbed 49ers rookie quarterback Trey Lance before dashing over to his coach and giving him a big shove.
Rob Lowder of Blue Wire Pods shared a funny clip from Kittle’s mic’d up video that was produced by the team for Week 17.
“I would rather Trey avoid Kittle after plays,” Shanahan said. “I appreciate the encouragement, but Kittle for some reason can't control his aggressiveness. Trey definitely can handle it better than me, but I run from Kittle after good things because he will not change how he hits people no matter what. Whether they have pads on or not, whether they're on your team, he just gets too excited. So, best thing is to avoid Kittle in those moments because he is an injury waiting to happen.”
Kittle is a huge WWE fan and I feel like he would make a seamless transition as a pro wrestler once his football days are over. Just don’t think you’ll be seeing Shanahan in the ring with him.
