Kyle Shanahan provides injury updates after Seahawks win

The 49ers limped into their matchup with the Seahawks Thursday night, and they limped out of it. But they left with a win, and the injuries they sustained don't appear to be serious.

Kyle Shanahan provided injury updates Friday morning, beginning with the players who came out hurt Thursday night.

He confirmed that running back Jordan Mason suffered an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder and that he would be day-to-day. So too, is Malik Mustapha, who had a low ankle sprain. There is less certainty for kicker Matthew Wright, who dislocated his shoulder on a tackle. The shoulder popped back into its socket, but the 49ers are still waiting on MRI results to determine where he's at.

Perhaps the most encouraging news of the season also came out of Shanahan's conference call. Rookie wide receiver Ricky Pearsall will have his practice window opened this week and should be able to practice Monday. Christian McCaffrey will not have his window opened this week, as expected. Keep an eye on him when the 49ers get to their bye week in three weeks.

Shanahan said that Pearsall might need more time than the days between now and the Chiefs game to be ready, but his answer wasn't definitive.

"I mean, most likely, I would think it'd be a longer ramp-up period," Shanahan said. "But, I mean, health wise and everything, he's totally good to go, but I really won't decide that stuff until we start watching him practice. But we're not going to rush or anything. If he's ready, he's ready, and if he's not, he's got a few weeks."

If Pearsall isn't ready, the 49ers have that bye after the Cowboys game to rest and get a full in-season practice in.

As far as the players who missed Thursday's game, Shanahan said that Jordan Elliott (knee) will be evaluated early this week. Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (calf) is hoped to return to practice. Charvarius Ward (knee) is day-to-day. Jake Moody (high ankle sprain) will miss a few weeks.
