The 49ers will get back to action on Saturday when they host the Denver Broncos at 5:30 PT for their second preseason matchup.

San Francisco’s offense sputtered last week in a 34-7 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, as Trey Lance and Co. went 3-and-out on three straight drives to begin the game. Behind the second-string offensive line, Lance eventually was sacked four times in the first half before Sam Darnold took over center.

On the latest 49ers Webzone “No Huddle” podcast, longtime Bay Area radio host Larry Krueger joined Al Sacco and Zain Naqvi to break down what he wants to see from the Niners this weekend.

“I’d like to see them establish the run a little bit with Ty-Davis Price and Jordan Mason,” Krueger said. “These are two quality young backs. They got zero push against the Raider front and they just could not run the ball. We’d have a much better chance to evaluate the quarterbacks fairly if you could see some production on first and second down in the run game.”

Krueger also said he has his eyes on a couple of rookies.

“I also want to see (tight end) Cameron Latu catch the ball,” Krueger said. “His hands have been horrendous. I wanna see Jake Moody make field goals.”

Moody, in particular, will be under the microscope after missing both of his attempts (40 yards, 58 yards) last week. The third-rounder hasn’t completely assumed the starting kicker’s duties, as Kyle Shanahan said he’d like to get a look at Zane Gonzalez this weekend.

Krueger thinks Moody should have a short leash even despite his high draft status.

“This team’s a Super Bowl contender,” Krueger said. “You got Zane Gonzalez hitting 55- and 57-yard field goals in this same camp. You got (former 49ers kicker) Robbie Gould in suburban Chicago sitting by his cell phone. I would say Jake Moody has got a game, a couple of games to show what he’s got.”
