Coming off of their dominant win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday, the Dallas Cowboys must now move on to a much more imposing opponent, the San Francisco 49ers.
At the head of that opponent is the 2022 NFL Draft's Mr. Irrelevant, rookie quarterback Brock Purdy.

But according to Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy, Purdy isn't a rookie anymore, and he has been very impressed by what he has seen from him since taking over the starting job.
“He’s not a rookie anymore in our eyes," McCarthy said. “His instincts, his awareness and his confidence. For a young player he definitely looks very confident. You don’t see a young player making panicked decisions.”
Purdy took over as the No. 1 quarterback following injuries to Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance.
Since then, the 49ers have been nearly unstoppable, going 6-0 with him as the starter, also leading the team to a win in Week 13 over the Miami Dolphins.
Over that time, Purdy completed 67 percent of his passes for 1,640 yards, 16 touchdowns and three interceptions.
And in the Wild Card round vs. Seattle when the lights were at their brighest, Purdy was even better, connecting on 18 of 30 passes for 332 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushing for a touchdown.
So after dealing with the best to ever play the game in Round 1, surely a rookie seventh rounder should be no problem, right?
Well, seeing that Purdy has yet to lose an NFL game, and turned the 49ers into arguably the hottest team in the league, that is easier said than done.
