Until there is a resolution to this staring contest between Deshaun Watson and the Houston Texans, fans and media are left clinging to every word or possible clue into what's really happening.
With Watson's cryptic tweets this offseason, it's hard to really know his mindset. It won't stop the effort.
So let that be the context of Watson's latest tweet, because we're not going to stop trying.
"Loyalty is everything. Don't you EVER forget it," the Texans quarterback tweeted.
For nearly two months, Watson has reportedly wanted out of the organization. Part of the discontent is related to the process of hiring general manager Nick Caserio, which Watson reportedly learned about through social media.
Watson thought he'd been assured by Texans CEO Cal McNair that management would involve him in the process. There were also concerns Watson expressed openly about the team's culture and leadership.
Watson has since requested a trade, though the Texans are adamant about noting trading their franchise quarterback.
While teams have inquired about Watson, first-year GM Caserio is not entertaining offers.
Reports earlier this week indicated Watson, who has a no-trade clause in the contract he signed last year, would be interested in the New York Jets, Miami Dolphins or Carolina Panthers.
