Baldy isn’t calling Brock Purdy the next Joe Montana, but he does see some similarities between the two 49ers quarterbacks.
Longtime NFL analyst Brian Baldinger joined 95.7 The Game’s “The Morning Roast” with Bonta Hill and Joe Shasky Monday to take a look at the league entering Week 4, while also offering his thoughts on Purdy, who remains undefeated (9-0) as a starter in the regular season.
"Joe Montana, you couldn't rattle him,” Baldinger said. “And I'm not comparing (Purdy) to Joe Montana, I'm not doing anything like that, but he does have that composure, he does have that poise. … I know certain defensive players, great players, they know when they’ve got their quarterback. They know when they’ve got the game in the bag because of what they’re doing to the quarterback. I never get the feeling no matter what, how many shots he takes, or a missed throw, whatever, that you ever have that guy. That’s a dangerous composition if you’re trying to defend him.”
