Despite being on the other side of the country from Levi’s Stadium, Pittsburgh was littered with loud 49ers Faithful during Sunday’s season-opener.
The team loves to call it a “49ers Invasion” and Acrisure Stadium sure had a bunch of red jerseys in the crowd as the Niners rolled to a 30-7 victory. During Monday’s edition of “Willard & Dibs” on 95.7 The Game, host Mark Willard gave a shoutout to The Faithful.
"When did the 49er fan base become the biggest, baddest, strongest, loudest, most unbelievable traveling entity that we’ve seen in sports?" Willard asked co-host Dan Dibley. “Didn’t this sneak up on you, too? What is this? What was the ticket agency last year that said they win fanbase of the year? But hold on – this is Pittsburgh! The opener! 'Let's go Niners' chants? What the hell is going on?"
