SAN FRANCISCO (95.7 The Game) - San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw will miss 4-6 weeks after undergoing groin surgery, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic.

Azeez Al-Shaair is the next man up and will assume the every-down role at weakside linebacker and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles will take over at strongside linebacker while Greenlaw is on the shelf.
It's unknown if Greenlaw will be placed on Injured Reserve, although that's very likely since any player that goes on IR will miss at least three games.
Greenlaw played a big part in the Niners' Week 1 win over the Lions, returning a pick-six to put his team up 28-10 in the second quarter. He didn't return to the game after that play.
