The names for the All-Star rosters were revealed this past Friday. There have already been some conversations about the notable players who were snubbed from the annual exhibition game.
One of those players that many believe was wrongfully left off the list is Carlos Rodón. It was not a fan who had the loudest opinion on the Giants ace not getting named to the NL roster but it was his biggest supporter -- his wife Ashley.
In a post on her Twitter account Monday, Ashley made it clear that her spouse is among the best pitchers in the National League and was unjustly left out of the event.
“Are you actually kidding….,” Ashley wrote alongside a crying laughing face emoji. “Man leads the NL in WAR. Wtf.”
She followed that tweet up by saying it's a "JOKE" and has no words.
After spending seven seasons with the White Sox, Rodón signed a two-year deal worth $44 million with San Francisco in March. He currently holds a 3.7 Wins Above Replacement value, according to FanGraphs -- putting him among the league leaders in that category.
The first All-Star appearance for Rodón was last year in Chicago. Ashley and Carlos have been married to each other since 2018.
Some of the other pitchers that made the cut instead of Rodón includes Clayton Kershaw, Sandy Alcantara, and Max Fried. Joc Pederson is the only Giants player that was named to the NL roster.
