The Giants released a statement on Santos' suspension Tuesday afternoon:
"The San Francisco Giants are disappointed that Gregory Santos has violated the terms of Major League Baseball's Drug Prevention and Treatment Program resulting in his suspension. The Giants organization fully supports the MLB program and its efforts to eliminate performance-enhancing substances from our game."
Santos, 21, made his big-league debut earlier this year for San Francisco, pitching to a 22.50 ERA in 2.0 innings of work. He is currently pitching for Triple-A Sacramento.
Santos was signed by the Red Sox out of the Dominican Republic at 16 and was later traded to the Giants in the Eduardo Nunez deal back in 2017.
According to MLB.com, he is the club's No. 13 ranked prospect.
