Time to start planning those 2024 summer road trips.
On Thursday, in the midst of American sports’ post MLB-All-Star Game malaise, the league released its schedule for next season.
The Giants are set to start the season at San Diego on March 28 before their home opener April 5 against the Padres. San Francisco will play the St. Louis Cardinals on June 20 at Rickwood Field, the nation’s oldest professional stadium, in a tribute game to the Negro Leagues, Birmingham Black Barons and black baseball legends like Willie Mays.
Despite their efforts to move to Las Vegas, the A’s have a lease at the Oakland Coliseum through the end of the 2024 campaign. Despite speculation the team could bolt for a new stadium as soon as next season, the press release Thursday said the team will open the season in Oakland against the Cleveland Guardians on March 28.
