They were five key cornerstones in the San Francisco Giants lineup during their dynastic run through the early 2010s and now they’ll be honored with bronze plaques outside King Street.
Brandon Belt, Brandon Crawford, Joe Panik, Pablo Sandoval and Buster Posey — all World Series champions who became massive fan favorites in San Francisco — will be inducted into the Giants’ Wall of Fame, the team announced on Wednesday.
A ceremony will take place on Aug. 8 ahead of the Giants’ matchup against the Detroit Tigers at Oracle Park. Fans in attendance will receive a commemorative poster.

Posey, now the organization’s president of baseball operations, and Sandoval were significant pieces for all three of the World Series title years in San Francisco — 2010, 2012 and 2014. Belt and Crawford emerged in 2011, and Panik debuted in 2014.
All five were homegrown, a testament to the team’s ability to draft, sign and develop their own at an elite level during that stretch.
Posey was the face of the Giants’ franchise in that stretch, building a strong national profile heightened by collecting a Rookie of the Year and MVP award in his first-full two seasons at the big league level — winning three championships by leading a formidable pitching staff as a catcher couldn’t hurt, either.
The 38-year-old’s selection is especially notable as it’s the first of many post-retirement honors he’ll receive with the Giants. The seven-time All-Star catcher is a strong candidate for Cooperstown when his name appears on the BBWAA ballot for the first time this winter. It’s likely he’ll see the team retire his No. 28 at some point, along with a statue in the future, too.
Crawford was raised in the East Bay and not only fulfilled his dream of playing for the Giants, but also logged more innings at shortstop than anyone to ever don the uniform. Belt, a 2016 All-Star, is already penciled in for a day of his own — Brandon Belt Celebration Day on April 25 — and provided several key postseason moments.
There was no more impressive play during the course of the Giants’ World Series seasons than Panik’s diving backhander and glove flip in Game 7 of the World Series to start one of the greatest double plays in the history of the sport. And Sandoval — the “Kung Fu Panda” and high-energy third baseman — blasted three homers in the first game of the 2012 World Series.
The Wall of Fame was established in 2008 by former CEO Peter Magowan and has honored 60 players, executives and staff members with plaques along King Street — outside of a number retirement and statue, it’s regarded as the highest honor one within the organization could bestow.
Sergio Romo, Javier, Santiago Casilla and Jeremy Affeldt — the “Core Four” — made up the last class of inductees in 2024. The Giants quietly adjusted their criteria in recent years to include players who’ve spent a minimum of nine seasons with the orange and black, five seasons with at least one All-Star selection, or three championship rings.
Five players are left who have reached the criteria, and aren’t in — Madison Bumgarner, Tim Lincecum, Johnny Cueto, Logan Webb and Camilo Doval.
