SAN FRANCISCO (95.7 The Game) - The Giants are reportedly one of the teams interested in plucking some offensive help from Washington.

According to the New York Post's Joel Sherman, the Giants have shown interest in slugger Kyle Schwarber, as have the Red Sox, Yankees and Blue Jays. Sherman adds that Schwarber could be traded by the end of the day Thursday, ahead of Friday afternoon's trade deadline.

Sherman later added that those same AL East teams may be more focused on Rockies shortstop Trevor Story at the moment.

Schwarber is currently on the injured list with a strained hamstring, but is expected to return sometime around mid-August. Prior to the injury, the 28-year-old was having the best season of his career, with a .253/.340/.570 slash line, 25 home runs and 53 RBIs in 72 games. Schwarber was the hottest hitter in baseball at the time he got hurt, hitting an absurd 16 home runs in an 18-game span from June 12-29.

When it comes to offensive help, the Giants have been linked to the Cubs' Kris Bryant and Story. The trade deadline expires at 1 p.m. PT on Friday.

Schwarber is currently on a one-year deal and will be a free agent after the season.
