Steph Curry has been to five NBA Finals and won three rings, but with the Warriors out in the play-in round this year, he’s gone from playoff stalwart to cheerleader – for the Sixers?

Yup, Steph is being the best big brother possible, telling the San Francisco Chronicle that he’s rooting for little bro Seth to add to the family’s jewelry collection, and picking Philly to win the East.

“I’m a pseudo-Sixer fan now,” Curry said.

The story, written by Ann Killion, was mainly about how the Currys are giving back to Oakland, but Steph did say that he’s not the type to turn off the playoffs just because he’s in them, and he’s 50/50 when it comes to playing in the Olympics in a few weeks.

And as for Steph’s prediction of whom the Sixers get in the Finals? Well, the Currys had two chances at a family affair – Steph and Damion Lee, who is married to the Currys’ sister Sydel, play for the Warriors, while Austin Rivers, who is Seth’s former Duke teammate and brother-in-law (Seth is, of course, married to coach Doc Rivers’ daughter Callie) was a possibility until the Suns eliminated the Nuggets this weekend.

Sixers-Clippers would be something for Doc, but for Steph, it’s Sixers-Jazz – and he’s “going storybook” by picking Seth as the Finals MVP.

Both teams are up 2-1 entering tonight’s Sixers-Hawks Game 4, and despite being on a star-laden team, Seth Curry is averaging nearly 17 points per game this postseason – so anything is possible.
