Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made a little surprise visit to the ballot drop-off location at Chase Center Saturday.
Kerr stayed for over an hour greeting voters, handing out stickers and he even dropped off his own ballot.
"The times are different," Kerr said. "Our country is in turmoil and everybody plays a role. We're truly a democracy that 'We the People' -- that's the key phrase, right, in the Constitution -- 'We the People' so, who's that? That's us. It's not somebody making decisions for us, it's us making decisions about who we are going to elect to help lead our country so this is the most important part of that process."
Coach Kerr has more time on his hands these days after missing his first NBA Finals as a head coach. This has allowed him the opportunity to be more involved with scouting draft prospects.
"I've had a lot of time now to catch up, seven months actually," Kerr said. "Now we're in the final stages and interviewing players and watching them workout and traveling around a little bit. I'm just learning a lot and happy to be part of it and hopefully make a good decision as an organization on what we decide to do."
We'll have to wait and see what Bob Myers and company decide to do with the No. 2 pick but there's one thing we don't have to wait on and that is VOTING. The ballot drop-off location at Chase Center is located at the corner of 3rd street and Warriors Way. They're open Sat/Sun: Oct. 31-Nov. 1 (10am-4pm), Mon: Nov. 2 (8am-5pm), and on Election Day Tue: Nov. 3 (7am-8pm).
Listen to Steve and VOTE!
