Tom Brady finally admitted he didn't know it was 4th down in viral gaffe vs. Bears

Tom Brady’s first season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers may have ended with him hoisting the Lombardi Trophy for the seventh time in his career, but it was not always smooth sailing.

There was one moment in particular, in a Week 5 Thursday Night Football loss to the Chicago Bears, in which Brady appeared to have an embarrassing gaffe.

Brady tossed an incomplete pass on a fourth-and-6 with 33 seconds remaining with the Bucs down 20-19, solidifying a win for the Bears.

But Brady stood on the field perplexed, holding up four fingers thinking he had another down left.

He did not, but the 43-year-old refused to give a straight answer on the incident all year — until now.

Brady, who is apparently on TikTok, was reliving some highlights (and lowlights) of his 2020 season and finally came clean about not knowing what down it was on that final play against the Bears.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been confused as I am in this moment right here,” Brady said.

The moment, naturally, went viral and Brady was roasted by fans everywhere.

Of course, it’s always easier to look back and laugh at the gaffes when you come out of the season a champion yet again.
