Ticket prices for Tom Brady’s return to Gillette are already through the roof

We already know that Tom Brady’s Oct. 3 return to take on the Patriots at Gillette Stadium could set records on the secondary ticket market when it comes to regular season football games.

Think potentially Super Bowl-like prices if you want to get the chance to see TB12 take on Bill Belichick in the old-school WWE pay-per-view worthy revenge game two decades in the making! (No, it’s not a retirement match!)

But there could be a more official, tangible record in play when Brady hits Foxborough in Week 4 to take on Belichick’s schemes and New England’s rebuilt defense.

Brady currently sits 1,154 yards short of Drew Brees’ record for the most passing yards in NFL history.

Obviously quick math shows that’s four games of a little less than 300 yards a game (289, actually) from the GOAT taking over the top spot.

Brady hit for 279 yards passing or more in nine of his 16 games leading Tampa’s offense last season, averaging, coincidentally enough, 289.6 yards passing per game. He topped 300 yards in five of the last seven games of 2020 as the offense picked up the pace on the way to a Super Bowl run.

It’s unclear whether the NFL took the possibility that Brady would stamp his name on yet another all-time record by topping Brees’ 80,358 yards in Week 4 in Foxborough in the timing for his return to New England. But it certainly adds another layer – necessary or not – to what will be hyped as the biggest regular season game of this or maybe any recent NFL schedule.

As T.O. famously said, getcha popcorn ready!

And if you want to be there in person Oct. 3 at Gillette, getcha credit card with the highest limit ready!
