Avril Lavigne is taking us back to our good ol’ angsty days with her very first TikTok post featuring her hit song from 2002, “Sk8er Boi.”

The 36-year-old singer, and new TikTok user, took to the viral platform yesterday to share a video of her lip-syncing to the hit with some help from everyone’s favorite sk8er boi... Tony Hawk.
The short video begins with Lavigne knelt down on a skate ramp lip-syncing the well-known lyrics, “He wanted her / She'd never tell / Secretly she wanted him as well.” Lavigne dressed the part in all black with her long, blonde locks framing her face. “But all of her friends / Stuck up their nose,” she continued before the camera zoomed in to a loose tie she was wearing around her neck as the music continued, “They had a problem with his baggy clothes.”
Just in time for the chorus, Tony Hawk is shown (wearing the same neck tie) at the top of a skate ramp. After flashing a smile, Hawk drops in to show off some of his tricks accompanied by the chorus, “He was a skater boy / She said, ‘See you later, boy’ / He wasn't good enough for her / She had a pretty face / But her head was up in space / She needed to come back down to earth.”
Fans went crazy over the video, which gained 1.5 million likes within six hours.
Lavigne and Hawk both posted to Instagram, encouraging fans to watch the TikTok video by sharing photos and videos from their time together.
“Breaking news: Sk8er Boi singer learns skating move from old Sk8ter Man,” Hawk captioned his video of Lavigne learning how to drop in. After a rough fall, Lavigne gets back up to try again and well, you’ll see…
So now she’s a sk8er girl, wonder if we can count on a song about it.
