Going into this evening’s ceremony tied with her husband JAY-Z for the most overall nominations, with 88, Beyoncé secured herself 4 wins before the night was halfway through, becoming the most-awarded artist in GRAMMY history. Surpassing super producer Quincy Jones and beating out late orchestral conductor Sir Georg Solti, who won 31 GRAMMYs in total before he passed in 1997.

When accepting the award that helped her break the record, Best Dance/Electronic Music Album, Beyoncé who tried “not to be too emotional” and “just receive this night,” did get a little teary eyed, and rightfully so.
Starting off by saying “I want to thank God for protecting me,” Bey went on to thank her Uncle Johnny, “who’s not here, but here in spirit.” As well as her parents, “for loving me and pushing me,” and her “beautiful husband and beautiful three children,” before acknowledging the “queer community for your love and inventing the genre."
