Mitchell is nominated this year for 'Best Folk Album'

Best Folk Album nominee Joni Mitchell is set to take the stage to perform during this year’s 66th annual GRAMMY Awards on Sunday, February 4.

Over her 60-year career, which includes 18 GRAMMY nominations and 11 awards, this year will mark the first time ‘60s folk icon Joni Mitchell has performed during the ceremony, joining the night’s previously announced entertainers Billy Joel, Luke Combs, Billie Eilish, Burna Boy, Dua Lipa, Travis Scott, Olivia Rodrigo, and lastly U2, broadcasting from the Sphere in Las Vegas.

Mitchell is nominated this year for Best Folk Album for her Joni Mitchell at Newport [Live] album. Over her distinguished career, after taking home her very first GRAMMY 54 years ago in 1970 for Best Folk Performance for 1969’s Clouds, Mitchell was awarded Best Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist in 1974 for “Down To You;” Best Pop Album and Best Album Package for 1995’s Turbulent Indigo; Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for 2000’s Both Sides, Now; Album of the Year with Herbie Hancock and Best Pop Instrumental Performance in 2008; Best Album Notes in 2018 and Best Historical Album in 2022. Additionally, Mitchell was honored with a GRAMMYs Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002 and was the MusiCares Person of the Year two decades later in 2022.

Hosted by Trevor Noah, the 66th Annual GRAMMY Awards will take place on Sunday, February 4 in downtown Los Angeles at the Crypto.com Arena. Catch it live on CBS starting at 8PM ET / 5PM PT, while Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers can stream the show live via Paramount+.
