(SportsRadio 610) - After three and a half years operating at the top of the organization, Jack Easterby is out.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday afternoon the Texans are parting ways with their executive vice president of football operations, who started with the organization in 2019.

Texans CEO Cal McNair released a statement Monday afternoon calling Easterby's departure a mutual parting of ways.

"I met with Executive Vice President of Football Operations Jack Easterby and we have mutually agreed to part ways," the statement reads. "For the remainder of the season, effective immediately, his responsibilities will be absorbed by our Football Operations staff. WE acknowledge Jack's positive contributions and wish him and his family the best in the future."

Easterby, who previously worked in the New England Patriots organization, is largely responsible for the direction of the Houston franchise since arriving in 2019.

Shortly after he was hired, then-general manager Brian Gaine was fired in June 2019. A year and a half later, then-general manager and head coach Bill O'Brien was fired after starting the 2020 season 0-4.

Easterby was influential bringing in current Texans general manager Nick Caserio, who he worked with in New England.

The Texans are coming off back-to-back four-win seasons and are 1-3-1 five games into 2022.

Easterby said on Twitter he and his family are thankful for their time Houston and wished the organization well.
