Sofia Vergara has undergone a ruthless makeover.
The “Modern Family” alum completely changed up her looks to star as real life Colombian drug lord Griselda Blanco (aka the Cocaine Godmother) in the upcoming Netflix series “Griselda.”
The streaming giant released the first photo of Vergara in costume and makeup as the notorious cartel boss while holding a lit cigarette. Gloria Delgado-Pritchett doesn’t live here anymore!
“Sofia Vergara stars as Griselda Blanco in a new limited series inspired by the Colombian businesswoman who created one of the most profitable cartels in history, which led to her being known as the ‘Godmother,’” Netflix captioned the pic.
In the photo, Vergara also bears a certain likeness to Catherine Zeta-Jones, who played Griselda in the 2018 Lifetime movie “Cocaine Godmother: The Griselda Blanco Story.”
Vergara is also executive producing the six-episode Netflix limited series that will follow Griselda’s violent rise to become one of the wealthiest drug traffickers in the world.
“Griselda Blanco was a larger-than-life character whose ruthless but ingenious tactics allowed her to rule a billion-dollar empire years before many of the most notorious male kingpins we know so much about,” Vergara previously said in a statement.
Along with the photo, Netflix disclosed the addition of 10 new cast members: Alberto Guerra (Narcos: Mexico) as Dario, Vanessa Ferlito (NCIS: New Orleans) as Isabel, Alberto Ammann (Narcos) as Alberto Bravo, Christian Tappan (The Great Heist) as Arturo, Diego Trujillo (Metastasis) as German Panesso, Paulina Davila (Luis Miguel) as Carmen, Gabriel Sloyer (Narcos) as Diaz, Juliana Aidén Martinez (Blacklist) as June, Martin Rodriguez (Detrás de la verdad) as Rivi, and José Zúñiga (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story) as Amilcar.
A premiere date for “Griselda” has not been announced.
