(SportsRadio 610) - Texans running back David Johnson is among the team's active players in Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Johnson is dealing with a quad injury, which limited him in last Sunday's win against the Jacksonville Jaguars and kept him out of practice the entire week.
With Johnson out, the Texans will rely primarily on Rex Burkhead and Royce Freeman for their running game. Houston is already ravaged by COVID-19, with 23 players put on the list in the past two weeks.
On Saturday, the Texans elevated six players from the list, and 11 players from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements.
Cornerback Terrance Mitchell had been on the COVID-19 and was activated Saturday, but he is still inactive for the Chargers game.
The Texans most notably are without top wide receiver Brandin Cooks, top pass rusher Jonathan Greenard, and interior defensive linemen Maliek Collins and Roy Lopez.
