As the Houston Texans continue to insist publicly that they don't plan to honor Deshaun Watson's trade request, the team has made a fairly notable transaction.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Mark Ingram II has signed a one-year deal with the Texans, a deal that comes with a value of "up to $3 million."

Ingram spent the past two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens after beginning his career with the New Orleans Saints. A three-time Pro Bowler, Ingram averaged five yards per carry in 2019, benefitting from Lamar Jackson's MVP campaign. However, with the addition of rookie J.K. Dobbins, Ingram fell out of favor in Baltimore in 2020, receiving a career-low 72 carries.

Now 31, it's unclear how much the former Heisman Trophy winner has left in the tank. Even if Watson does play for the Texans in 2021 - which feels especially unlikely - Ingram seems like a curious addition. The Texans went 4-12 in 2020, and already have another veteran, David Johnson, under contract for 2021.
