HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Texans cornerback Bradley Roby has been placed on the reserve COVID-19 list after testing positive.

Roby missed practices this week after participating in the first two weeks of training camp.

The positive test and placement on the COVID list is yet another setback for Roby, who already will miss the Texans' regular season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 12 at NRG Stadium.

Roby tested positive for a banned substance last season and served five of a six-game suspensions.

When he returns, expect Roby to be the Texans' top corner, as he's been since arriving to Houston in 2019.

Opposite Roby should be Terrance Mitchell, who watched Wednesday's practice from the sideline and rode an exercise bike under the shade.

In other roster moves, the Texans waived wide receiver Damon Hazelton and signed free agent running back Darius Jackson.

Hazleton signed with the Texans on May 14 as a college free agent from Missouri, where he was a graduate transfer after spending three seasons at Virginia Tech and one season at Ball State.

Jackson has played on seven teams since 2016, including three stints with the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad and twice with the Indianapolis Colts.
