The Texans released running back Darius Jackson after two preseason games and less than two weeks since signing him as a free agent.

Jackson scored on a 25-yard run in the Texans' first preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. He completed the night with 37 rushing yards on five carries.

Against the Dallas Cowboys this past Saturday, Jackson -- who signed with the Texans as a free agent Aug. 11 -- had just one carry for no yards.

Jackson on the depth chart was clearly behind Mark Ingram, Phillip Lindsay, Rex Burkhead, Scottie Phillips and Buddy Howell.
