Erica L. Savage-Jeter, MD, MBA, FAAFP

Dr. Savage-Jeter started her medical career as a family physician in Union, SC, the town in which she grew up and obtain her early education.  She took pride in caring for people that had watched her grow into the young professional she had become.  While in Union she observed the challenges that impacted the health of those that lived in small town America.  Her practice became centered around the care of all age groups of people with preponderance of chronic illness including diabetes mellitus, congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, just to name a few.  She also grew familiar with the financial barriers and access to limited resources that lead to poor health outcomes.  Her work was dedicated to helping patients overcome these barriers and live the best healthy life they could. While in Union she was awarded Physician of the Year from the Union Hospital District in 2009.

She has continued her work in serving the needs of patients with chronic disease and eliminating barriers to health.  She has received recognition from the National Committee of Quality Assurance in 2013; recognizing her commitment to provide evidence-based measures and provide excellent care to her patients with diabetes.

Currently, she is serving role as Regional Medical Director for Partners in Primary Care, a Humana owned medical group practice, comprising 5 primary care offices in Greenville, SC and Gastonia, NC that cater to all patients, with a strong emphasis on senior-focused primary care. PiPC’s focus is on providing personalized, exceptional healthcare to their patients designed to reduce the complexity of disease and promote well-being.  Her focus for the organization is to pledge to commit to early disease recognition, management of chronic diseases to prevent complications, and eliminate barriers to healthy lifestyle habits while nurturing a relationship of mutual trust and respect among all the patients and providers within Partners in Primary Care.

Dr. Savage-Jeter has a passion for completing all she does “with a spirit of excellence” focusing her life’s work of improving the quality of life for someone else. This is made evident in not only her professional work but her community involvement and philanthropy.
