Ricky Pulley, Jr. is a native of Mauldin, South Carolina. As a high school student at Southside High, Ricky was a member and captain of the nationally ranked speech and debate team winning multiple national tournaments.

After graduation Ricky attended Morehouse College in Atlanta where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Religion. While at Morehouse Ricky was a member of The Martin Luther King, Jr. International Chapel Assistants Program where he first found his love for social justice. Ricky participated in demonstrations against the execution of Troy Davis while also planning a national march and rally around the murder of Trayvon Martin in Florida.


Upon graduation from Morehouse Ricky returned to Greenville to start culinary school while also working as a youth pastor. Ricky transitioned into coaching and helping to develop student athletes in the classroom at Legacy Early College while also serving as the Education Coordinator at the Urban League of the Upstate where he helped prepare students for life after high school.

Currently Ricky still assists with the Legacy boys’ basketball team and has recently moved to Columbia, SC to work at Sexual Trauma Services of the Midlands. In his role as the Underserved Survivor Outreach Coordinator, Ricky works with various underserved populations in the Midlands, including men, people of color, LGBTQIA+, athletes, and college students, that are survivors to provide violence prevention education for these communities.

Ricky enjoys helping survivors regain their voice, while providing prevention education that is intentional for particular communities. Ricky was recognized by Talented Tenth Greenville as one of the Top 10 Young Professionals in the Upstate for his volunteerism and mentorship within the community.
