The Black Lives Matter movement has declared Tuesday, July 7th, National #BlackOutDay. What does that mean exactly? It’s a nationwide economic protest with an end goal to continue to talk about the importance of black lives and the racial injustices in this country. So with just one day of no spending from black people, POC, and allies we can send a message to the people of America where it really hurts, their pockets.

It is also a great way to continue to raise awareness and spotlight black-owned businesses to support. This is the designated nationwide day, and in hopes that everyone will continue to shop at black businesses after today. So with the help of the community in the Upstate, I have compiled a list of black-owned businesses in Spartanburg, and I will continue to make more lists for Greenville and Anderson coming soon.
