Todd Edward Hardy is the son of Ms. Brenda K. Hardy and the late Robert Goode. As a native of Pacolet, SC Mr. Hardy was educated in Spartanburg School District Three and a graduate of Broome High School.
Mr. Hardy continued his education at the University of South Carolina-Spartanburg where he gained a B.S. degree in Secondary Education. Mr. Hardy continued his education at Converse College where he has achieved a Master’s Degree in Education Administration and an Educational Specialist Degree in School Administration and Leadership.
Todd Hardy served the students of Spartanburg School District Five as a middle school teacher and assistant principal. In 2006 Mr.
Hardy was hired as the first principal of the James F. Byrnes Freshman Academy.
Mr. Hardy left that assignment in 2010 to become the principal of Broome High School, his alma mater. Currently, Todd Hardy is the Principal of James F.
Byrnes High School in Spartanburg Five. Mr. Hardy holds the distinction of being the first black principal of both Broome and Byrnes. Mr. Hardy will assume the position of Chief Administration Officer for Spartanburg District Five at the conclusion of this school yer.
Mr. Hardy has received numerous awards including the USC-Spartanburg’s Outstanding Student Teacher, South Carolina ETV Principal of Excellence, and USC-Upstate’s Distinguished Alumni of the Year 2010.
There is no greater accomplishment in Mr. Hardy’s life than being saved. Through his faith in Jesus Christ he has been blessed with his beautiful wife, the former Ms. Isha Walker, his two children, Nyasia and Todd Jr. and his beloved grandson Zaiden and granddaughter Nevaeh.
