In 2010, A’Lores C. Norris became a certified makeup artist.
Makeup has always been her passion. A’Lores’ mom was a model, and she would find old pictures and recreate those looks on herself. After she received her certification in makeup she went back to school and majored in Studio Arts.
In A’Lores’ classes, they painted self-portraits of themselves and others - they studied facial structure, which built a skillset of techniques such as, mixing and matching various pigments to obtain the shades the artist desired.
Those skills came in handy when A’Lores developed her own product line called, ‘The House Of Flawless.’ She started off creating her own lipsticks, and soon an entire collection followed. As of 2020, her line includes foundations, setting powders, highlighters, lip glosses, and more.
Each product caters to various personalities, cultures, and attitudes. A’Lores knows that representation truly matters, and she wanted to represent everyone within that brand.
The House of Flawless ships daily. They not only service local to South Carolina customers, but they also ship to states like California, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Washington, and even internationally. They have a featured recurring segment on Your Carolina through Channel 7 News called ‘Werk It Wednesday.’ A’Lores has been the feature of this segment for the past four years.
During the Covid 19 Shutdown, A’Lores thought her business would suffer as she wasn’t able to be in the shop or on-set for the television studio. Still, ultimately it was an opportunity to rest and recharge. During that time, she wrote a book entitled, ‘I May Not Be Perfect, but My Lipstick Is!’ The book was released digitally in May of 2020.
A’Lores and her team is working vigorously right now to get the book in paperback, as well as on hardcover. They also plan to release new products, deals, and more throughout the year. 2021 will be one for the books for A’Lores C. Norris.
